Corporate Services for the Natural Resource Ministries (CSNR) serves the five natural resource ministries (Agriculture; Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources; Environment and Climate Change Strategy; Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development and Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation). CSNR is unique in that it is one of the largest corporate services organization across the BC public service, led by two ADMs, for approximately 5,500 natural resource ministry employees in over 120 locations throughout the province. These services include all aspects of financial planning, budget management, financial operations, strategic human resources, and facilities and asset management. CSNR’s vision is to be a trusted partner sharing in the success of the natural resource ministries. As a Financial Analyst, you will provide financial analyst services to multiple programs, projects and/or business lines. This includes applying a broad range of financial and accounting knowledge, combined with good understanding of client business needs and program priorities to provide budget and accounting expertise. The ideal candidate has working knowledge of accounting theory, practices, and policies and excellent understanding of accounting standards and procedures. You are an effective and versatile collaborator, skilled in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals to complete work assignments and have an outstanding eye for detail to ensure that all reports, material and communications are of consistently high quality.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Diploma or higher in the field of financial management, such as Level 1 of the Financial Management Certificate Program, or CA/CMA/CGA, or equivalent.

Experience required in all of the following:

  • Experience in conducting financial forecasts and analysis and in supporting budget evaluation processes for multiple business areas.
  • Experience analyzing financial and accounting reports and recommending reallocations and/or providing financial advice to clients.
  • Experience developing financial statements and reports.
  • Experience generating financial spreadsheets, working documents and reports using MS Excel.

Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Experience working with Corporate Financial System – ORACLE Enterprise
