The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

Finance is separated into five work groups (Finance Corporate, Corporate Audit, Finance Wholesale, Finance Retail, and Shared Services) and provides financial services to all LDB departments. The Finance division provides financial reporting, advisory services, budgeting, capital asset reporting, and financial transactional processing (banking, accounting payable, accounts receivable). Finance is responsible for the LDB’s enterprise risk management program and oversees regulatory compliance for BC liquor manufacturers/warehouses.

The Manager, Finance Inventory is accountable for the integrity of all aspects of BCLS inventory transaction processing, including financial controls and period end processing. The position participates in financial system design projects and continuous improvement initiatives. The Manager supervises a team of finance inventory analysts and support clerks.

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience:

The following equivalencies will be considered:

• Degree in business administration or accounting or equivalent discipline and one year of recent, related experience* •Diploma in accounting or business administration or equivalent discipline and three years of recent, related experience*. •Certificate in accounting or business administration or equivalent discipline and five years of recent, related experience*.

*Recent, related experience must be within the last 5 years and include:

• Providing professional oversight to retail transaction processing, including financial controls and period end processing (see ‘Accountabilities section’ of the JD for more details). •Supervising two or more employees in financial administration roles.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:Â

• Experience in the beverage alcohol industry/supply chain, or a large retail environment. •Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) and is a member in good standing. Please indicate the year of your CPA designation in your application. Note: If your designation was obtained from outside of Canada, you will need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through an applicable Canadian Accounting Association. •Attendance to the CPA program.
