YOUR ROLE

Job Summary:

The FP&A Business Partner, Sales & Operation plays a key strategic role within the organization by creating an essential link between store operations and financial performance. They are a financial professional who collaborates daily with sales & ops team members to establish financial objectives that pertain to Store Payroll (budget, forecast, etc.), to provide visibility on the performance against those objectives, and to perform analysis that supports business decisions. This individual understands the business drivers, and financial systems/processes and is adept at working with all employee levels within the company.

Responsibilities

Strategic: 20%

  • Promotes and initiates continuous improvements in order to improve organizational processes, management reporting that generate superior business results;
  • Identifies and monitors key financial and non-financial indicators to gauge performance, identify trends and perform benchmarking on core activities to provide financial and strategic perspective to the business;
  • Coordinates with the business the monthly assessment of the latest forecast through a detailed Risk and Opportunity analysis and suggest ways to mitigate risk and/or capture opportunities;
  • Participate in the implementation of Predictive Analytics tools to better forecast store traffic and required hours;

Operational: 70%

  • Ensuring that actual store payroll hours have been captured correctly across the different platforms: Operational Reports & reconciling any differences encountered;
  • Preparing a weekly store payroll tracker of actualized vs allowed hours which shows the performance of each banner or stores versus their respective targets;
  • Running weekly Store Sales reports to identify the rolling 3 weeks sales trend to project allowed hours for the upcoming operational month;
  • Performing month-end financial analysis explaining the volume and pricing impact of store payroll (Price-Volume-Mix analysis) on Retail earnings;
  • Present clearly and concisely the Store Payroll results and any other Overhead variances at the monthly business unit review meetings (MBUR), bridging the financial performance with business operations.

Leadership: 10%

  • Responsible for identifying, pursuing, and sharing with teammates technical, professional and interpersonal training programs for his/herself;
  • Ensure alignment between the business and the Finance teams through regular and clear communication;
  • With the support of the immediate supervisor, responsible for personal development and career planning.

  • University degree in Finance/Business administration
  • 1 to 2 years of pertinent business experience. Strong business acumen and well-versed in Financial Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis.
  • Understanding of performance variance analyses, accounting principles, and financial reporting aspects;
  • Knowledge and skills using SAP BPC, SAP Financials, SAP EPM and AO
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong Communication and leadership skills
