Mogo is looking for a Front End Engineer to build, maintain, and optimize our online customer experience – and that’s kind of a big deal!

As a Front End Engineer, you will work alongside our Product, Marketing and Development teams to create and maintain fundamental pieces of our web application. Join a strong team that is focused on impacting the world through finance and making our everyday lives better. What you’ll do:

  • Build frontend features using JS/ES6, Pug templates, and SCSS.
  • Contribute to the technical design, implementation, and testing of product features.
  • Write clean code and make smart design decisions.
  • Ship features with users in mind and strive to provide them with a great experience.
  • Identify technical debt and offer recommendations on improving the quality of the frontend codebase.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Mogo, regularly using our suite of products, sharing the brand with friends and family, and providing feedback to the team for improvements

What you’ll need:

  • 3-5 years experience working in a variety of development environments (SAAS would be a huge plus).
  • Solid grasp of computing science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
  • Strong knowledge in front-end technologies and ability to code in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, etc).
  • Strong experience working collaboratively in a team environment (Agile is a plus).
  • Experience working in CI/CD environments and utilizing testing.
  • HTML templating systems, modern CSS and CSS preprocessing languages
  • Strong knowledge of SPA development
