This is a part-time, contract summer job for 35 hours per week in Edmonton, Alberta. The length of the contract will be 8 weeks. This position is dependent upon government funding.

Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 30.

You will be joining an established Agency that is guided by faith to care for and bring hope to people in need with humility, compassion and respect. With more than 60 years of service delivery, Catholic Social Services is one of the largest multi-function social services agencies in Canada, with more than 1800 staff, and hundreds of volunteers delivering 130+ programs throughout Central Alberta.

As a Fund Development Coordinator, you will provide support to our Development and Community Relations Department while helping to execute our annual Sign of Hope Fall Campaign strategy and ensure we care meeting our financial targets/goals by:

  • Planning and coordinating fundraising event logistics, and promote and market events.
  • Participating in school fundraising initiatives.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date list of all community partners, including school and parish contacts.
  • Planning and executing communication strategies to support fundraising efforts.
  • Supporting day-to-day social media management, as it relates to fundraising.
  • Writing content for the bi-annual donor newsletter, as well thank you letters, and other donor communications.
  • Conducting research on potential funding sources, such as government, foundations, community and corporate grants.
  • Assisting with donor management including donation entry, thank you calls, email and mail correspondence.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, Marketing, or Fundraising/Fund Development programs is considered an asset.
  • Superior interpersonal skills with an outgoing, people-oriented personality.
  • Strong written communications skills. Experience writing for multiple platforms and audiences.
  • Experience creating content for social media.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work individually and in an integrated team environment.
  • Excellent time management and prioritizing ability.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to take on responsibility and use initiative to prioritize and work effectively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, public and written communication skills.
  • Criminal Record Check within the last 3 years

The pay rate for this position is $18.00 per hour.
