Job title: General Accountant
Job description: Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with an Etobicoke, ON-based company to hire an Accounting Clerk. This will be a permanent opportunity!
Benefits & Perks:
- Compensation: Up to 60k
- Please note, that this will be a fully on-site role at the client’s Etobicoke Office for 8 weeks of training and then moved to hybrid.
- 3 to 4 weeks’ vacation + Health and Dental + Pension Benefits

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
- Post journal entries and supporting work papers and documentation.
- Bank reconciliations.
- NSF checks be treated in a bank reconciliation.
- Accurately enter invoices across multiple entities.
- Prepare and maintain Accounts Payable documents and records.
- Cost Allocation concepts and general tax legislation (i.e.: HST & provincial RST).
- Prepare and maintain Accounts Payable documents and records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is an asset.
- Must have 3 years of experience in a FULL CYCLE ACCOUNTING role with solid bank reconciliation experience and general accounting knowledge (AP and Payroll experience).
- Experience in the Insurance or Financial/Service industry is a Must.
- Main Focus on Reconciliations, Journal Entries, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable (invoicing).
- Must be proficient in MS Office including Excel (Vlookups, Pivot Tables, Formulas), QuickBooks, or Sage.
- Must have excellent communication and attention to detail skills.
