Job title: General Duty Technologist -Lab
Job description: Laboratory Services is a comprehensive program that provides 2.2 million tests per annum in support of all RVH clinical programs and clinical trials. RVH Laboratory Services is an Accredited services as recognized by Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH) and have received and maintained ISO15189 Accreditation Plus designation.
As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:
- General certification in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized post-secondary institute
- Certification through the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)
- Registration with the College of Medical laboratory Technologist of Ontario (CMLTO) in areas of responsibility required
- Current registration with the College of Medical laboratory Technologist (CMLTO) in areas of responsibility required
- Participation in professional committees, networks recommended
- Minimum one (1) year recent laboratory experience in related discipline(s), as required by assigned area, preferred
- General knowledge of all areas of the laboratory preferred
- General knowledge of the theory and practices of applicable laboratories procedures and equipment required
- Meditech and LIS knowledge and experience an asset
- Experience with current instrumentation/automation in respective area an asset
- Demonstrated ability to develop skill and knowledge in required areas of the laboratory required
Unless otherwise stated applicants must have a minimum educational requirement of Grade 12 or equivalent and must demonstrate proven workplace excellence through commitment to strong job performance and attendance.
Please be reminded that as a Regional Health Centre, in order to provide the necessary patient care, our operations run 24/7. Therefore, depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work week days and weekends, as well as all shifts – days, evenings, and nights.
