Job title: General Finance Clerk – CEP
Job description: The General Finance Clerk oversees a variety of tasks including receivables, payables, refunds, and 3rd party commitments. Reporting to the Manager they support day to day operations and month/year end activities. The l, located at 20 Banigan Dr, East York, ON, supports 26 Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) clinics across Ontario providing communication equipment to clients.
This is a temporary part-time 0.6 FTE (or 3 days a week) contract expected to be 3 months in length.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee collections (accounts receivable) on behalf of leasing and sales clients.
- Liaise with client/families, clinics and 3rd party funders to inquire about payments and answer billing related questions.
- Troubleshoot account problems by answering inquires from client/families, clinics and 3rd party funders regarding status of payment.
- Investigate billing issues and make inquires to other CEP staff as required.
- Produce and assess system generated reports regularly to identify outstanding payments.
- Track potential non collectable payments from delinquent clients and report to leadership.
- Process vendor invoices by reviewing invoices for correct information, ensuring invoice agrees with purchase order information and inputting information into the database.
- Oversee refund checks, and bank deposits.
- Review and process client 3rd party funding commitments. Follow up with 3rd party funders regularly to ensure accounts are paid.
- Monitor payments by the Assistive Devices Program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Sound knowledge of accounts payable and receivable procedures, accounting practices, and information system operation.
- College or University graduation in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Administration an asset.
- Financial accounting experience as asset.
- Detail oriented and organized with good problem solving skills.
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Flexible and able to balance multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
