General Kitchen Help

PT/FT, Multiple Positions

Position Summary:

The General Cafeteria worker includes customer service, food service, and cleanliness. This includes, Sandwich Makers, Line Servers, Deli salad and Pizza Makers, Bussing, and Grill Line

Specific Duties:

  • Preparing beverages or food items in any of our facilities.
  • Using standard coffee and ready-mix machines
  • Display, serve and complete orders in front of customers
  • Communicate with customers by taking food & beverages orders and requests
  • Maintains high quality food and cleanliness keeping waste to a minimum
  • Performs specific cleaning duties and cleans as he/she goes
  • Adheres to health and safety practices
  • Practices safe and sanitary preparation and service techniques
  • Stocking and setting up of station over the course of the day
  • Assist Chef or peers with any duties that might arise
  • Follow and adhere to all food services policies and procedures, including, but not limited to:
  • FIFO and Day Dot practices
  • Follow all HACCP Procedures
  • Food temperature checks
  • Quality checking (i.e. expiration dates)
  • Adhere to all government/University policies and legislation, including but not limited to:
  • Food Safety and Sanitation
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Employment Standards
  • Human Rights & Labor Law and Harassment
  • Assist on different stations as necessary
  • Mya be required to assist in dish room and with pot washing
  • Daily sign off production sheets, temp logs, waste logs, cleaning sheets

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food prep or food service related work preferred
  • Knowledge of various food prep methods, proper knife handling, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage preferred
  • Must be able to obtain food safety certification
  • Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.
