Job description: The main purpose of the role is provide overall support to operational functions. There is exposure to extreme temperatures, dusts, odors and raw meat including beef, pork, poultry and seafood.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Various assigned duties throughout Operations and Warehouse as needed.
  • Deboxing product as per production requirements.
  • Miscellaneous movement of boxes / bins / product
  • Building of boxes / packaging
  • Assist as directed in start-up operations
  • Maintain proper cleaning and sanitizing of miscellaneous parts / equipment prior to end of shift shut down
  • Ensure that any equipment being used is safe to operate at all times
  • Maintain efficiencies and proper documentation as required.
  • Housekeeping – maintain overall cleanliness of plant environment
  • Comply with all safety rules and adherence to all Company Health and Safety policies,
  • Comply with all Food Safety and HACCP regulations.
  • Participating in monthly inventory as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

  • High School, Post-Secondary an asset
  • Applicants must be fluent in both English and French to be considered;
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • Food processing / freezer environment knowledge preferred
  • Communication and Language – is required to communicate using courtesy, tact, discretion, and persuasion, where appropriate. Fluent use of English – written and spoken. Good handwriting skills
  • Judgment – Ability to use sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Problem Solving – Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Stress Management – Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Quality – Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality.
  • Time Management – Use time efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Health and Safety – Works in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations as well as Company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Food Safety/Security – Works in compliance with all applicable Food Safety policies and procedures as set out by the Company and relevant legislation including HACCP regulations.
  • Physical Exertion is required. Physical activities of the job include:
  • Heavy lifting 50-70+ lbs
  • Standing, Bending/Twisting
  • Walking
