General Labor Technician

Job title: General Labor Technician

Job description: Reporting to the Department Manager, the General Labor Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of general labor tasks including, demolition, general and site cleaning, packing and moving, hauling equipment, assisting flood technicians, assisting hazmat technicians, assisting content/cleaning technicians and assisting carpenters.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Office/Management Duties

• Review work orders assigned daily and complete tasks assigned
• Communicate with other associates involved as needed
• Check routing and directions to each job as required
• Inspect materials and equipment required for the scheduled jobs is in good working order and loaded on company vehicles prior to leaving the office
• Complete daily time cards and supplies sheets on per job basis

Client Site Duties

• Complete jobs to specifications, to customer’s satisfaction and in accordance with WorkSafe Guidelines
• Manage all personal protective equipment on and off the jobsite. Ensure PPE is in working order, clean and ready to use for each job.
• Ensure work is completed to ServiceMaster standards and customer requirements
• Communicate and document jobsite progress and materials/supplies used on each jobsite
• Take a personal and genuine interest in providing customer satisfaction
• Approach each job with a can do attitude

General Duties

• Maintain all equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in proper working order
• Keep the interior of the vehicles and shop areas used neat and clean
• Ensure equipment and shop supplies is kept clean, orderly and well stocked
• General Demolition on jobsites which may include, floors, walls, ceilings, cabinets, bathroom fixtures, trims, interior and exterior structures
• General Cleaning on jobsites which may include, post demolition cleans, post construction cleans, final move in cleans, exterior cleans and hauling debris
• General Labor on jobsites which may include packing and resetting homes, hauling debris, cleaning and maintaining equipment,
• Attend training workshops as required for the production team
• Maintain professional conduct and appearance
• Provide an exceptional level of service that exceeds the expectation of the client
• Conduct all work in accordance with company safety policies
• Adherence to all company workplace policies
• Perform other duties as may be required

• Able to work some afterhours and on call shifts on weekly rotation

Educational Requirements

Education Required: High School Diploma

Other Education/Certification/Training preferred: IICRC Certifications are considered an asset

Technical Requirements

Equipment: Vacuum cleaners, Hand Tools, Power Tools, Respirators, Containment set up

Software: Ability to learn new app based software

Other: Drivers Licence Required
