McCain Fertilizer- Job Posting

McCain Fertilizer is currently seeking a General Laborer based out of our Grand Falls, NB Grain location. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the operation functions, while always ensuring a safe work environment.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Foster a safe work environment and promote continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety.
• Must work with a strong sense of urgency.
• Assist in performing preventive maintenance and repairs of all equipment and buildings.
• Able to work extended hours during the busy season (spring and Fall)
• Willing and capable of doing some exterior physical labor in varying weather conditions as required.
• Capable of working in dusty environments
• Capable of learning Grading and Cleaning techniques under the directions of the Site supervisor
• Responsible for some sanitation duties
• Working in a fast-paced team environment
• Participate in Team meetings, as required.
• All additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 education or GED preferred
• Willing and capable to work at heights
• Ability to safely lift/carry approximately 40 lbs
• Team player with excellent attendance
• Highly motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must possess a good safety record and demonstrate “safety first’’ on a continual basis.
• Ability to operate a forklift, skid loader and ten wheeler would be an asset.
