Job description: GENERAL LABOURER, Chaudary Poultry Farm, Wainfleet
The Chaudary Poultry Farm, located in Wainfleet, On is a family run egg farm to 2nd Generation Egg Farmers.
The Chaudary Family is proud to have recently built their dream barn in 2012, with plans to build another barn in the near future to enrich colony housing. The Chaudary Poultry Farm is always looking for ways to improve care for their hens.
Job Description for General Labourer on the Egg Farm:
- Comply with workplace sanitation practices to prevent the spread of disease
- Comply with all of the HACCP guidelines to ensure that proper care is being given to the birds.
- Gather eggs
- Stack gathered eggs onto a skid
- Move the skid with a pump truck to the cooler
- Cleaning the machines, catch pans, sinks and floors once all of the eggs are gathered
- Machine maintenance/oiling and greasing
- Walking the barn daily
- Check feed lines
- Check cages and egg belts for debris and remove
- Remove the dead birds from the cages
- Compost the dead birds found
- Sweep the barn
- Blow the barn
- Blow under the rows
- Clean the fans
- Clean top of 4 and all manure rods
- Clean flushers and tubes front and back
- Wash front and back of the barn
- Exterior maintenance of the barns and property
- Wash ventilation
- Checking all of the bait stations
- Record bird mortality, feed, water, egg yield and weight, cooler temperature and any corrective actions that were done
- Report to management any breakdowns and operation issues
Skills Required
Looking for a hard working individual, who isn’t afraid of Farm Life and getting dirty!
Shifts are Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm. Full Time and Part Time positions available.
No experience is necessary, as we are willing to train the right person.
Must be able to drive to the farm, as we are not on a bus route.
