Job description: General Sandblasting & Painting Ltd. provides surface preparation (blasting) and protective coating/painting for the repair, protection, prevention, and maintenance of our clients assets. We are Regina-based and proudly Saskatchewan owned and operated. We have been providing service to a diverse customer base for over 37 years – our clients are leaders in the petrochemical, oil and gas, manufacturing, mining and industrial sectors in Saskatchewan.

We are looking for reliable, hard-working individuals to fill seasonal General Labourer positions starting April 2021 (possibly sooner). Labourers are responsible for assisting abrasive blasters/industrial painters in the completion of their daily tasks, prepping materials, general housekeeping duties, material handling and any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Tasks are primarily physical labour, outdoors and subject to dust, fumes and noise (PPE supplied) and may involve confined spaces or working at heights.
Successful applicants will have a valid Class 5 drivers license, and meet the physical requirements to perform average lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds. Preference will be given to candidates who have VALID SCOT, Confined Space, Fall Protection, H2S Alive or other relevant safety tickets.
Applicants must be flexible and available for overtime, weekends rotating shifts and/or night shifts. Travel may be required.

APPLICANTS MUST OBTAIN NEGATIVE RESULTS ON A DRUG & ALCOHOL SCREEN UPON HIRING AND MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED.

Ideal candidate qualities include:
Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and company employees, and to work safely and efficiently with little or no supervision
Understanding and compliance with company HSE requirements
Fluent English (verbal and comprehension) required especially verbal for radio communication
Previous experience blasting or operating vac units will be considered an asset.
