Job Description

Waste Connections is looking for a Landfill Traffic Spotter/ General Labourer to join our team in Ottawa, ON. This is a temporary job, working from April until November 2022.

The Spotter is the first point of contact for trucks coming onto our site, directing traffic and ensuring a safe working environment.

This is a demanding role that requires focus while working outside in the elements.

Pay rate: $17.43 per hour

Working hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30AM start, approximately 35 hours per week

Responsibilities Include:

Spotting/Directing Trucks is the primary position

Traffic Manager (moving signs and cones)

Communicate any possible risks to drivers and ensuring a following up

Cleaning Equipment as needed

General site cleanup as needed

Performing other assigned duties at the landfill as needed

Requirements:

At least 2 years of work experience, preferably in a labor type position

Experience operating equipment is a plus

Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout entire shift

Mechanical ability is a plus
