Department: Equipment & Asset Management

Status: Permanent Full-time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hour days (hours subject to change based on operational requirements)

This is what you’ll be doing:

  • Repair, calibrate and maintain hospital equipment to ensure it is operating safely, effectively and efficiently (e.g. wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, bedside tables, carts, etc.).
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on patient beds, stretchers, Staxi chairs, designated therapy equipment and designated food service carts.
  • Includes function and ground fault tests, visual, cleaning and lubricating, test run and fastening or tightening, use of hand tools and electrical tester.
  • Document all preventative maintenance work, checklists, time & materials in the CMMS.
  • Administrative functions performed in MobileView (RTLS Software) for updating battery life on all Rolling Stock RTLS tags
  • Installation of new furniture accessories, such as keyboard trays, monitor arms and CPU holders
  • Assembling of new equipment such as, shelves, bed accessories, carts, furniture accessories.
  • Demand repairs on all Hospital maintained equipment, not covered by Biomed or a Service Contract, that need broken parts replaced, repaired or adjusted. Equipment includes. but not limited to, Beds, Stretchers, Wheelchairs, Furniture, Overbed tables, Fridge/Freezers, Enclosed Carts, General Carts etc.
  • Monitoring and maintaining stock part inventory levels

This is what you’ll need to do it:

  • 2+ years of experience in an acute care hospital preventative maintenance program required
  • Technical College Program, electronics based preferred or equivalent experience required
  • Experience with Hill Rom beds preferred
  • Hill Rom Technical Bed Maintenance Certification an asset
  • Ability to work with your hands, make proper use of tools, verbal training on equipment by service technician
  • Must be able to work with our CMMS and Real Time Locating Software systems, or similar experience would be considered an asset.
  • Basic Excel knowledge required
  • Good communications skills essential across all staff levels
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must be comfortable interacting with patients and working in patient rooms
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation.
  • Must be physically able to perform the job and able lift 40 – 60 lbs
  • Able to walk significant distance per day
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record

Salary: $20.26 to $25.29
