THE OPPORTUNITY:

GENERAL MANAGER

UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

The General Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of hotel operations including: guest relations, front desk, sales, housekeeping, maintenance, product quality, accounting, team building and staff development. Directs and coordinates hotel operations to gain efficiency and maximize profits by performing tasks personally or through direct reports.

Responsabilités

The duties and responsibilities of the General Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage all aspects of the business.
  • Overall responsibility for the financial success of the property, including budget, forecast, performance and revenue management. Develop, prepare, execute and achieve financial goals.
  • Manage all sources of revenue. Maintain a fair market share. The goal would be to maintain established cost and quality standards, maximize profits, train and retain employees, and exceed customer expectations.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of business plans, including sales and marketing plans.
  • Determine the hotel’s pricing strategy with respect to room inventory and anticipated market segment mix to exceed occupancy rate per market share with an above-market rate of return.
  • Leadership and management of all departments and employees. Oversee daily operations. Control purchases and inventory.
  • Represent the hotel with appropriate hotel, tourism and trade associations. Responsible for a strong involvement in the community.
  • Create an environment that guarantees total customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate, promote, implement and maintain all brand and management group policies, procedures and standards throughout the hotel to employees and guests.
  • Ensure that all appropriate systems and controls are in place to produce accurate monthly financial reports clearly explaining operational efficiency, trends and variances, and showing at all times when the hotel is on budget.
  • Maintain product and service quality standards by performing ongoing assessments and investigating complaints. Take corrective action as needed.
  • Recruit, supervise, coach, discipline and evaluate direct reports.
  • Protect the hotel and its assets by implementing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program, ensuring the safety of employees and customers, regularity of operations, good appearance, compliance with brand standards and laws.

Exigences

  • Minimum 5 years experience in hotel management.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, entrepreneurship and decision-making.
  • Ability to professionally interact and coach all levels of management and staff.
  • Experience in personnel management: recruitment, training and motivation.
  • Experience in developing and executing business, marketing and sales plans and operating budgets.
  • Proven track record of managing revenue, exceeding market share and sales targets.
  • Above average proficiency/knowledge of computer systems.
  • Ability to work within deadlines.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles
  • Strong financial planning, revenue management and organizational skills. Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans.
  • Excellent time management, numeracy and analytical skills, along with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Candidate must have the skills and experience to lead a team to consistently deliver exceptional customer service and effectively grow revenue.
  • Must be a hands-on, results-oriented leader with high ethics, personal accountability and proven track record.
  • Track record as an exceptional communicator, coach and mentor to ensure high performance and superior customer service delivery.
