Reporting to the District Manager, the General Manager will oversee the daily foodservice. The General Manager will be responsible for the profitable management of these services under contract with the Client. Responsibilities include interaction with the client, customers and employees. The General Manager will provide vision to growing the business.

  • Ensure all operating standards are achieved
  • Grow Catering business through Marketing initiatives
  • Establish and maintain procedures for purchasing, receiving, storage, preparation and service of food
  • Coordinate and supervise personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality and cost control, labour, scheduling, staffing and training
  • Assist front line managers with any operational and staffing issues
  • Train, develop and mentor the management team and establish succession plans
  • Ensure that standards for sanitation and food safety are met
  • Assist in menu planning
  • Prepare business plans, budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor financial operating results in order to achieve company and client objectives
  • Develop new initiatives and programs to improve sales and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for all business sectors
  • Maintain records to comply with Aramark, and government standards
  • Ensure compliance with Marketing and Human Resources Programs
  • Ensure adherence to Aramark’s policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to Aramark’s Health and Safety Programs

Qualifications

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Hospitality management or related field
  • Must be able to lead a team of 15-20 staff members
  • 5 years progressive management experience in a similar sized operation
  • strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical, project planning, and financial management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers, colleagues and staff
