Job description: Hagerty Garage + Social, a premium club for vintage and collectible car owners, has an opportunity for a General Manager of its Toronto location. In this role you will collaborate with senior management to establish a profitable business through client acquisition, vehicle management, and overseeing of facility operations. You will supervise all department heads and work with teams to ensure excellent service is provided to members and guests. You will lead all areas including scheduling/availability, communication, organization, follow- through, respect for the facility, client vehicle care, food and beverage services, appearance, and cleanliness. This work will be done in the Burlington, Ontario market.

Responsibilities:
Leadership, Motivation, and Development: The General Manager will demonstrate strong management skills and provide leadership and motivation to department heads and staff. This person will train staff and work with individuals on career growth and development.

Administration:

The General Manager will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, staffing, training, supervising, conducting performance reviews, performance management, authorizing payroll/time off, purchasing, managing inventory, safety, and conducting regular staff meetings. This person will administer the Club’s policies and procedures in a manner that creates a positive, equitable, and inclusive environment.

What you’ll do

  • Establish and work towards occupancy goals with senior management
  • Create and execute marketing programs to attract new members and retain existing members
  • Generate rental leads through dealers, service providers, ancillary automotive business and other car enthusiast groups
  • Create and maintain an active leads database
  • Be a visible manager, interacting appropriately with all club members, prospective new members, staff, and vendors
  • Meet the needs of all clients, ensuring the highest levels of service
  • Listen to client issues and provide solutions
  • Along with garage staff, coordinate the sales and completion of all service work
  • Create sales leads for service work – meeting budgetary goals
  • Assist Chef with food & beverage operations (including alcohol sales) and ensuring the highest standards are maintained while supporting the elevation of the F&B program
  • Follow billing procedure throughout the service process
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting to Senior Manager
  • Process all billings in a timely fashion
  • Work with facility team members to maintain a fully operational facility
  • Establish and manage monthly schedule
  • Oversee Vehicle management
  • Coordinate and manage annual event calendar
  • Coordinate and work with other Hagerty team members on an as needed basis to create the best possible member experience

This might describe you

  • Ability and enthusiasm to network and relationship build within the collector and exotic car industry
  • Associates degree in business or related field
  • Experience with coordination or management of projects
  • Proficient user of MS Office products: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Valid Driver’s License and good standing driving record
  • Must be available to travel for events and work some nights and weekends
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to multitask, effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced work environment
  • Superior organizational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Impeccable attendance record
  • Proven experience in planning and organizing events, and food and beverage services
  • Great follow through skills to successfully meet deadlines and project dates
  • Comfort with public speaking and addressing large groups of people
  • Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs., standing and walking for long periods of time)
  • Experience in automotive related sector, hospitality management, and/or food and beverage services
