Seeking a General Practitioner (GP) at the Ford Mountain Correctional Centre (FMCC) in Chilliwack, BC to help improve access to primary health care as well as provide mental health and substance use support for clients in correctional centres. The GP is an important member of the health care team at FMCC, which is located in a stunning outdoor setting among mountains and the beautiful Chilliwack River. FMCC houses approximately 125 male offenders, primarily those with mental health concerns or who have committed sexual offences. Working alongside other health care experts on a supportive and inter-professional team, you will provide quality care for clients and help them live an active life during their time in custody and as they reintegrate into the community. This new model of health care provides the opportunity for you to grow your expertise as a primary care practitioner in an environment where you are supported from day one, and where leaders and colleagues across disciplines will have your back.
Be part of a team where you can live and work in your community, positively influence an incarcerated individual’s journey along a new path, and see the difference you can make as you serve the diverse population within the BC Corrections system.
