Nova Scotia Health Authority provides health services to Nova Scotians and some specialized services to Maritimers and Atlantic Canadians. We operate hospitals, health centres and community-based programs across the province. Our team of health professionals includes employees, doctors, researchers, learners and volunteers that provide the health care or services you may need. This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

The general worker cleans and services hospital areas to ensure the safety, health and morale of patients, visitors, and employees. The general worker assists patients’ recovery by helping to provide a clean, attractive, and safe environment with minimal interference to others.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Diploma/GED is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good working relationships and communicate effectively with patients and staff required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team required.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience is considered an asset.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours of Work

Long Assignment Part-Time (50%) position; 37.5 hours bi-weekly.
Beginning July 12, 2021 with an expected end date of July 13, 2022.

Salary Information

$17.0904 – $17.8026
