Golder has a new opportunity for a Junior Geotechnical Technician to join our Construction Services and Materials Engineering team on a contract basis based in London, Ontario.
An overview of your role will include:
Completing construction materials field and laboratory testing under the direction of our senior technicians, engineers and scientists;
Providing oversight and quality control of technical services in a field, office and laboratory environment;
Supervise and/or carry out site geotechnical inspections of construction work and materials testing;
Conduct in situ testing of various materials on construction sites, compaction testing and testing of concrete and asphalt;
Perform laboratory testing on construction materials;
Participate in a team environment;
Demonstrating a “Safety-First” focus and acting as a role model to other staff;
Maintaining a high standard of behaviour to uphold Golder’s reputation and demonstrating a commitment to our Core Values; and,
Work with and provide support to other members of the field technician group in assisting with other field and office activities as required.
Qualifications
You will have a background in:
College Diploma in a Civil Engineering or Environmental Sciences Technology program;
This position is for new graduates and those with up to 4 years previous experience working as a Geotechnical Technician;
A drive to develop your career toward delivering, developing and managing a local and regional construction materials testing business;
Must own a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage and hold a valid driver’s license;
Good written and verbal communication skills; and
Strong organizational skills.
