Position Overview: The Global Enterprise Analyst II – Finance role has overall accountability for BlackLine platform architecture. Accountable for the analysis, design, documentation, and deployment of solutions meeting global and regional requirements and supporting the Global Enterprise and Controller in developing the strategy & driving adoption across Finning’s business.

This global role operates as the “Platform Champion” and is responsible for: big-picture BlackLine platform architecture and governance principles; design element and signing off on the overall application configuration; ensuring that the system accurately meets the defined expectations of the business; and performance and security requirements are closely monitored by working with Finance, Digital and Information Technology teams. You will be able to follow and understand the new platform architect product and technical capabilities resulting from product releases.

Job Description:

Service Delivery and Improvements (80%)

  • Liaise with users and other stakeholders to prioritize and deliver on BlackLine requirements.
  • Represent the Global Enterprise Support team to gather requirements, deliver solutions, and prioritize inter-departmental requests.
  • Maintain global and regional settings working closely to regional champions, SME’s, local and business administrators.
  • Provide training, and on-going system support based on global and regions’ requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate data validation for all tasks completed on a consistent basis, ensuring data integrity and correct/complete results for every process run in-system.

Documentation (10%)

  • Coordinate and ensure process documentation is standardized and reviewed each year for accuracy.
  • Facilitate the governance of BlackLine products and data, including tasks such as documenting problems, managing changes, communicating releases, reviewing security, and maintaining log of changes.
  • Develop, unit test, maintain and produce technical documentation relating to BlackLine products.

Reporting (10%)

  • Create and drives out insights through analysis of BlackLine dashboards and reports.
  • Champion of data story-telling and data visualization best practices, fostering delivery of insights, education, and the practice of delivering value from data.
  • Provide status reports and ensure escalation of issues as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting or Computer Science.
  • Professional accounting designation would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of combined experience in Finance, Accounting and Technology would be ideal.
  • Experience in any of the following is an asset: BlackLine, SAP ECC, Infor Smart Office M3, Tableau, SQL coding.
  • Understanding of DB software tools for sequels such as TOAD/Viewpoint is an asset.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting aggressive deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Knowledge of the link between analysis and business impact.
  • Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables.
  • Ability to seek out and direct process improvement, including root cause analysis.
  • Strong problem solving and persuasion skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects.
  • Must be fluent in English (verbal and written), Spanish would be an asset.
  • Location for this role can be in any of our Finning operating regions (Western Canada, UK & Ireland, and South America (Chile, Argentina, and Bolivia).
