WE ARE LOOKING FOR A GLOBAL GRADUATE ( FINANCE)

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

This role is part of our 2022 Global Graduate Program (June start date)

Our Global Graduate Program is an entry-level opportunity designed for recent graduates who want to fast-track their career globally. As part of the BAT Group companies, global graduates gain exposure to career opportunities beyond Canada and build a network of colleagues that span the globe. As a finance global graduate, you’ll build commercial experience advising on the allocation of resources for brand investments working with different functions to evaluate and improve returns, and managing the delivery of consistent profit growth. Through exposure to our business, thoughtful mentorship, and on-the-job development opportunities, the program prepares you for a management role within 12 months and provides international career opportunities across BAT’s footprint.

Reports to: Commercial Finance Manager

Reporting Level: No Direct Reports

Geographic Scope: Canada

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

Depending on role assignment, responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support the development of strategic objectives and implementation of key commercial initiatives.
  • Challenge existing processes and deliver continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate and analyze data to understand current status and inspire change.
  • Be a champion of change.
  • Achieve KPI (key performance indicator) metrics.

In addition, Global Graduates will:

  • Spend time with C-Suite leadership during a series of leadership roundtable events.
  • Gain world-class leadership training through our BAT Global Academy in England, where you will establish a global network.
  • Make an impact on our international business participating in global cross-market projects under the supervision of your dedicated coach & mentor.
  • Graduate into a junior manager position within 12 months.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related function. CPA / CFA an asset.
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic mindset, agile learner.

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

  • Demonstrated leadership skills through extracurricular activities.
  • Strong analytical skills with a view towards future trends and data analytics.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong eye for business and a strategic approach
  • Intellectual curiosity and ambition.
