Job title: Grain Merchant/Field Marketer
Job description: Hensall Co-op is seeking a dynamic individual to become an integral member of our team at the Hensall location. The Grain Marketer / FM will face to face with producers on harvest delivered and on farm grain / crop inputs helping the producer and HC maximize their returns by using planning tools and resources available. The Grain Merchant / FM will make recommendations for plans to capitalize on these opportunities, implementation of strategy as set out by the grain trading team and assisting with some strategic selling to various end markets. What Hensall Co-op has to offer:Group Benefits plan (dental, prescriptions, vision, massage, chiropractic, physiotherapy etc.)Pension Plan Job Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain active knowledge of freight, cash and deferred basis, and CBOT market trends, so as to develop well informed trading strategies for producer/supplier.Work closely with operations / logistics to improve operating procedures and improve efficiencies and increase customer service.Maintain regular contact with customers and prospects to ensure customer satisfaction and capitalize on opportunities.Liaison with producers with on farm storage / Input needs.Assist with food grade soybean/edible bean origination in trading area, as required.Maintain accurate and up to date records and logs of all producer and end user business.Trade within appropriate guidelines for risk as established by the marketing team.Sponsor and maintain producer seminars relating to marketing, risk management tools.Understand and maintain trading records on HC's Thede Ward System / other.Interpret government and industry reports.Maintain weekly log of calls and ongoing market information.Other duties as required. Job Requirements:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Competent in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.Thede Ward System compatibility.Ability to relate well to producers and customers.Ability to work well with the Team.Ability to use SIS Customer Relationship Management Software.
