Job description: ESFM is the corporate Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) division of Compass Group Canada operating in the business & industry sector. Along with providing IFM services to the Canadian Headquarters of several multi-national businesses, ESFM’s list of clients include household names in the Telecommunications, Entertainment, Pharmaceutical, Gas & Oil, Food Processing and Automotive markets.

Job Summary

The Hardware Technician is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the setup and delivery of workstations for new hires and the organization workstation refresh schedule. They are charged with surveying, ordering, receiving, configuring, and delivering workstations to support the computing needs of Compass users.

Now, if you were to come on board as our Hardware Technician, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

• Provide analysis and assist end users to match computing needs to hardware options.
• Coordinate vendor bulk orders, and maintain inventories.
• Order, receive, setup, and distribute user workstations for new hires
• Receive and decommission end of use/life PC equipment in alignment with established processes and standards.
• Back-up and migrate data for workstation replacements in alignment with established departmental standards, ensuring compliance with legal retention policies.
• Migrate user profile settings and data to refreshed equipment to minimize user impact.
• Coordinate and facilitate shipping activities for equipment in alignment with established processes.
• Return End of Lease equipment to leasing & disposal companies.
• Serve as primary resource for hardware escalations.
• Provide Tier 2 support for workstation software / vendor issues.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or combination of education and experience.
