Head, Medical Affairs Ophthalmology
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Head, Medical Affairs Ophthalmology, are to:
- Participate in strategic planning and annual budgeting process in the therapeutic area
- Working with Business Unit (BU) Head, develop a long-term strategic plan, and annual Country Medical Affairs Plan for the therapeutic area (TA)
- Interface with regional and global counterparts within TA
- Dialog with BU, Medical/Scientific Advisors and Scientific Affairs Liaisons to develop comprehensive Thought Leader (TL) engagement plans for the TA
- Responsible for final review and approval of marketing/promotional materials and press releases
- Oversee all local studies within TA
- Involved in evaluation of new in-licensing opportunities
- Manage, Lead, Direct, Develop, Coach and Mentor staff
- Manage scientific/medical issues in TA including Critical Actions
- Provide strategic input to development and review of regulatory submissions and responses
- Provide medical input to reimbursement strategies
- Contribute to study feasibility assessments within TA in partnership with Site Management
- Represent TA on the Canadian Medical Leadership and Medical Affairs Leadership Teams

- MD, PhD, PharmD or Master’s degree with relevant industry experience
