BoxKnight is a same and next day delivery service. We work with e-commerce retailers to offer their customers fast and personalized deliveries, allowing them to compete with Amazon Prime. We use the local inventory in warehouses or storefronts that is closest to the client to ensure fast, efficient, and on time deliveries, always. Our deliveries are accomplished by independent contractors, who are onboarded based on their excellent service level.

BoxKnight is changing the game by allowing all retailers to offer fast deliveries, so that they don’t lose market share. We are passionate about working with our retail partners to create awesome delivery experiences. We also work closely with our delivery partners, whether individuals or companies, to provide them with the tools and delivery volume they need to provide and awesome service and reach their potential.

Job Description:

The Head of Logistics at BoxKnight will take responsibility for ensuring that deliveries get where they need to be in an efficient manner in all our markets. They are responsible for the day-to- day operations of the logistics department, as well as expected to be strategic planners involved in helping the company grow exponentially.

Specific Responsibilities:

While ensuring that deliveries take place on time, and that the day-to-day logistics of the company are smooth, efficient and organize, the Head of Logistics must also:

  • Reduce costs by improving the efficiency of our routes, fulfilment centres, truck transports, etc.
  • Manage all logistics teams in all our markets (currently Montreal and Toronto). This includes helping them set goals, making sure they meet these goals, and motivating them to perform.
  • Hiring new colleagues if necessary.
  • Looking for inefficiencies and adjusting to correct them.
  • Maintaining relationships with the logistics teams at our retail partners’ companies.
  • Monitoring delivery metrics and KPIs and creating processes to consistently improve our logistics flow.
  • Working with business development team to onboard more partners and do more deliveries seamlessly.

Desired Outcomes:

  • Immediate understanding and implementation of a plan to run successfully run a warehouse and our logistics team to manage 20,000, 50,000 and 100,000 deliveries per week.
  • Implementing new warehouse and logistic frameworks that are scalable with growth
  • Improving route efficiency
  • Reducing delayed deliveries to near zero
  • Reduce COGS by increasing efficiency
  • Presenting volume forecasts to better estimate driver need on a weekly basis
  • Setting and tracking goals and the professional progression of the logistics teams.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Strong managerial skills and previous managerial experience.
  • Warehousing and or logistics experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics (or related). Bonus if Masters.
