Salary: From $90,000 to $100,000 per year + bonus, full benefits

Our client is an international manufacturer seeking a Health and Safety Manager for their West Island facility.

In this role, you will be overseeing the region of Quebec (two locations) as well as other parts of Canada, but the main work will take place in the West Island of Montreal with little travel involved. You will be working with the local plant manager.

Here is a very brief overview of what the role entails:

– Maintaining branch Health and Safety compliance matters from A to Z
– Working as a leader in Health and Safety and providing support to staff management for 4 facilities
– Working with staff in a “hands on” approach to educate on safety matters creating awareness of safe practices and policies
– Preparing and conducting presentations on safety practices
– Maintaining a solid awareness and enforcing safe practices
– Managing EHS risk assessment
– Preparing and keeping up-to-date all Emergency Response plans
– Conducting regular audits internally and externally with employees and suppliers
– Performing EHS trainings
– Supporting corporate EHS goals

Qualifications:

– At least 5 years of experience in Health and Safety within a similar role
– Experience working with chemicals and dangerous goods is considered an asset
– Good knowledge of Federal EHS regulations
– Fluency in English and French – oral and written
– Availability for some minimal travel to other parts of Canada as needed
– Autonomy and capacity to manage affairs without supervision
