The High River General Hospital Auxiliary Term Care Centre (LTC) is home to 50 Elderly Residents. Nestled 66.5 kms south of Calgary in the beautiful community of High River, Alberta. The vibrant High River Hospital offers an excellent rural care giver opportunity in a unique and diverse Alberta health services care facility. The Health Care Aide (HCA) in LTC works in a Resident Family Centered Care environment that focuses on meeting the comprehensive and complex care needs of the Residents and their families in a home like setting. The HCA will work diligently to enhance the Residents activities of daily living by providing compassionate Resident centered care. Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification. Additional Required Qualifications:
Successful completion and graduation from an accredited Health Care Aide/Nursing Attendant Program. To ensure your skills and qualifications are considered please attach a resume and cover letter with your application. Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Long-Term Care Nursing experience. 1-2 years Caregiver Experience in an Adult Clinical Care Setting. Completion of Supportive Pathways or equivalent dementia care education or experience will be considered. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as member of a care team. Palliative Care experience will be considered a preferred asset.
