Job description: ROLE SUMMARY
In a general way, the teaching load shall include: preparation and production of course ONLINE, delivery of training, production and delivery of all training documents, adaptation of training to clients’ needs, objectives and desired learning outcomes.

Business Services within Continuing Education is looking to hire hourly teachers to teach non-credited courses in the Winter 2021 semester.

These courses will most likely need to be taught ONLINE using tools such as Microsoft Teams, ZOOM, Léa and Moodle.

French as a Second Language Conversation Immersion – Beginner (120 hours)
(Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. from February 1st to April 15th, 2021)
This 120-hour FSL Beginner Immersion conversation course introduces students to basic grammar, vocabulary and conversation strategies for everyday interaction. Students will be guided through a theme-based curriculum that presents them with common, useful language points. Students will receive extensive practice through fun, interactive activities that focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing. Because they are immersed in French four days a week, students will acquire language skills quickly and thoroughly.

French as a Second Language – Intermediate (40 hours)
(Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. from February 1st to March 31st, 2021)
This 40-hour intermediate conversation course builds on the language skills acquired in the beginner level. Students will expand their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary for everyday interaction, and will learn the language skills necessary for a wider range of contexts. Students will be guided through a theme-based curriculum that presents them with a variety of common, useful language points, which they will practice through fun, interactive activities that focus on listening and speaking skills.

French as a Second Language Conversation (600 hours)
(Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. from February 1st to July 23rd, 2021)
Specifically, this 600-hour FSL Intermediate Immersion conversation course introduces students to basic grammar, vocabulary and conversation strategies for everyday interaction. Students are guided through a theme-based curriculum that presents them with common, useful language points. Students will receive extensive practice through fun, interactive activities that focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing. Because they are immersed in French
25 hours/week, students will acquire language skills quickly and thoroughly.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • A combination of relevant diplomas or certifications in a related field, and a combination of industry experience related to the course being taught.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is not required, but would be considered an asset.
  • Experience teaching adults learners would also be considered an asset.
