Job description: HR MANAGER

Under limited supervision, administers and /or oversees all Human Resources related programs and functions of the plant including: health and safety, recruitment and orientation, training, performance management, organizational development, benefits and salary administration, employee relations and the management of discipline, employee policy development and employee communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES * Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provide clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.

  • Lead all required meetings with safety as first topic. (i.e. Pre-shift, Department Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.).
  • Participates in department incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions as required
  • Plan and maintain functions such as:
  • compensation and benefit administration
  • performance management
  • organizational development
  • training development and delivery
  • recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and orientation
  • promotions
  • regulatory compliance and reporting
  • Strong Leadership skills that foster decisiveness, change management, team development, ability to influence, organizational awareness.
  • Mentors, trains, provides development opportunities and supervises several direct reports.
  • Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback.
  • Coordinates and conducts training as required.
  • Collection of HR metrics, analysis of the data, properly collating it, reporting and identification of trends.
  • Assure legal compliance with all existing governmental laws and regulations.
  • Oversee WSIB case management, to include return to work accommodations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations or other related
  • field or equivalent
  • CHRP or CHRL certification preferred
  • At least 7 years HR generalist experience within a manufacturing plant environment
  • Ability to work effectively with all personnel to achieve goals.
