This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

The IM/IT Systems Analyst reports to the IM/IT Manager, Business Intelligence Services. In this role, the IM/IT Systems Analyst will engage with partners to translate data into information that can be used to support decision making. The successful candidate will work with partners to determine business requirements, priorities, and define key performance indicators. They will also ensure that business intelligence solutions present information in an accurate, reliable, accessible, and engaging way.
Specific responsibilities include:

  • Conduct analyses of functional business processes and requirements, including gaining an understanding of source system IT applications
  • Document requirements in a standardized manner (e.g. data dictionaries)
  • Interpret business requirements and, in collaboration with senior team members, determine optimum business intelligence solutions to meet needs
  • Explore data to discover patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies, and trends
  • Participate in data modeling activities
  • Participate in data validation activities and provide input on the development of data quality metrics
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Complete other duties as assigned in relation to the position description

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in an Information Technology, Business Analysis or Health Related discipline. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a Technology, Business Analysis or Health Related field an asset
  • Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology an asset
  • Strong analytical skills to gather and implement user requirements
  • Knowledge of SQL programming
  • Working knowledge of the role of metadata management in data governance
  • Data visualization skills an asset
  • Experience with Tableau, an asset
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Salary Information

$30.0181 – $37.5228
