Job description: Our client is a leader in the transportation of Fresh and Frozen goods. They are currently searching for an Import-Export Logistics Specialist to work from their office in the West-Island. This role will require a candidate who has experience in all aspects of logistics.

Responsibilities

· Prioritize orders according to shipment details and contract deadlines

· Check with supplier to ensure product is available to ship within contract period

· Confirm Supplier is MAP approved and that order has been Quality approved

· Confirm shipment schedule with customer, and required ETA

· Make the appropriate booking with steamship line or Frt Forwarder.

· Get PO/shipment schedule/required ETA from customer

· Send B/L instructions

· Check and ensure all supplier “load specific” documents are received prior to delivery to customer and is communicated to the Quality Control Specialist for approval.

· Send copy of custom (load specific) documents to customer for approval of import loads

· Ensure the Marine Insurance certificates are prepared and passed to accounting upon receipt of loading / shipment details as required.

· Negotiate freight rates inland trucking rates for possible new shipments as required by the Traders

· Maintain and Update the Freight rates in the CRM for all Import and Domestic truck shipments.

· Working with all traffic staff to ensure Frt rates are updated in Action and current.

· Issue real time shipment summary reports to key clients as required

· Communicate un-cleared orders to traders and relevant parties

· Arrange storage, export transportation for FDA/Customer rejected loads

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree

· 3+ years in Marine Exports/Imports

· Food & Reefer experience an asset

· Strong negotiation skills

· Sound Time management skills

· Fluency in excel

· Spanish an asset
