We are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator for future opportunities starting in early 2021 in Saskatchewan.

As a Project Coordinator for our PCL Industrial Management Inc. district, you will contribute to our team by:

  • Performing and applying quantity takeoffs and surveys to manage contract progress and reporting
  • Maintaining contract with select subcontractors and being responsible for some subcontract administration, including defining work scope, answering inquiries, and monitoring progress
  • Reviewing and understanding contract obligations as per the responsible work scope
  • Assisting with change management and change order process, including pricing, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact before reviewing with project manager. Performing simple estimates
  • Developing and monitoring overall project schedule
  • Assisting project manager in creating and issuing tender packages and subcontracts and monitoring their progress
  • Maintaining and performing project document control and procedures (administering RFIs, shop drawing and submittal process, maintaining as-built drawings, etc.)
  • Assisting project manager and superintendent in managing and reporting overall project or select scope performance as per site HSE, cost management, schedule, and quality
  • Providing proactive leadership for safety and quality programs
  • Preparing and tracking progress claims and estimates
  • Overseeing inventory and tracking of materials and equipment, and expediting material orders
  • Preparing work packages for self-perform work and maintaining self-perform schedule and costing system
  • Assisting in overall construction coordination and planning
  • Identifying and assisting in resolving complex field technical issues
  • Assisting designers/engineers when reviewing drawings and suggests value-added or alternative construction methods or materials
  • Developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

Postsecondary degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline

5-7 years of construction experience in an operational role

Excellent verbal communication skills

Ability to communicate effectively with multiple parties

Intermediate knowledge of construction specifications, methods and procedures

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology/systems

Ability to apply basic engineering principles to construction challenges

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
