We’re looking for an Infant and Toddler Program Supervisor (6-Month Contract) who will be based in Burnaby, B.C.
In this role you’ll:
- Responsible for planning and implementing the program curriculum and care in a manner that meets the daily needs of all children enrolled in the Infant and Toddler Program
- Develop program plans that are in line with the centers philosophy
- To ensure all regulatory requirements are being met within the Child Care Program at all times by spending time in each of the infant toddler rooms
- Promote an environment that celebrates the diversity of families, children and their individual learning and care needs
- Maintain all health and safety requirements
- Observe children in their surroundings and assesses individual and group needs; complete child progress reports
- To organize and facilitate children’s gradual entry into the Infant and Toddler Program
- Directly supervise and provide leadership and guidance to a team of Early Childhood Educators made up of Part time staff, Casual Staff, Volunteers and practicum students in the Infant and Toddler Program
- Occasionally organize meetings with classroom teachers related to our philosophy and curriculum
- Facilitating communications with families as required
- Attend/Lead parent conferences
- Providing support and resources for families on a variety of topics
- Works closely with the Director to ensure overall program consistency, philosophy and commitment to inclusive environment throughout the child care programs
- Build positive working relationships with parents, the community and local agencies
- Handle all emergency situations and reports any minor or serious incidents according to program policies and Child Care Regulations to the Child Care Director
- Oversees the day to day movement of children between classrooms and program levels; in collaboration with the Child Care Director
- Maintaining highly confidential information such as child files, child care plans and other sensitive documentation
- Ensuring satisfactory completion of administrative tasks including, but not limited to:
- Staff schedule
- Monitoring enrolment and attendance of children
- In collaboration with the Director manages all aspects of the RB and non-RB I/T waitlist
- Assists in all aspects of the Child Care Program as required by the Corporate Child Care Director
- Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.

- Provide at least three work related references
- Be physically active and responsive to children’s physical needs.
This job will require you to:
- Role model appropriate behavior, grace and courtesies with children, parents and fellow staff
- Role model joy and a positive attitude in relation to learning and care
- Participate in annual evaluations with the Corporate Child Care Director
- Participate in program events as required – including occasional evening and weekend activities.
- In collaboration with the Pre-k MA Supervisor oversees all aspects of the childcare when the Director is off-site.
