Our client is seeking an individual for the role of Intermediate Accountant to provide a wide variety of support services to Management in a multi-company environment. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills, take pride in providing reliable, timely and efficient support and is a team player. This role combines traditional functions like accounts payable, invoicing, and general ledger posting with analytical functions like variance monitoring, cash management and administration.

Responsibilities:

Full Cycle Accounting in a multi-company environment which includes:

Working with management maintaining daily cashflow spreadsheets

A/P processing and cheque preparation

Reconcile and analyze Balance Sheet accounts monthly

Weekly Payroll processing using ADP, including payroll entries

Prepare Journal entries as required

Invoicing

Prepare HST / GST and other statutory returns as required

Preparation of draft monthly financial statements

Working with complex financial models

Financial related projects

Creating PowerPoint Presentations

Performs other duties as directed by Senior Management

Support preparation of budgets and forecasts as required

Complying with all local, provincial, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings (HST/GST etc), and reporting

Executive Assistant responsibilities as required

Office Management

Qualifications:

Senior Student pursuing a CPA designation or equivalent is an asset

University or College graduate

Must have minimum 3 years or progressive bookkeeper/general accountant experience

Experience in a multi-company entrepreneurial environment or experience working with a bookkeeping service firm

Experience working with a Real Estate Development firm or Construction company is an asset

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience with QuickBooks and ADP Payroll

Proven advanced MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint skills

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Demonstrate an ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and set priorities * Strong work ethic, and ability to use time productively to accomplish departmental goals
