This company is offering an exciting opportunity for professional advancement and growth in the exciting role of Intermediate Accountant. The ideal candidate for this role is an energized Accounting professional and has proven hands-on experience and ability in the accounting field. Reporting to the Controller, the Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for an interesting, wide range of general accounting duties.
Responsibilities:
– Assist Controller with all reporting and day-to-day activities
– Daily cash balance/forecast updating (one/two companies)
– Weekly roll-forward cash flow forecast on excel template (two entities)
– Weekly management report preparation for one/two companies including – Cash and liquidity, Sales activities, Order book, Labour utilization, Profitability of jobs
– Preparation of weekly Sales pipeline report
– Bank reconciliations – One account on weekly basis – Four/five accounts on monthly basis
– Support ERP migration
– Expense and credit card report/payment entry
– Preparation of monthly standard journal entries (two companies)
– Consolidated and combined financials
– Compilation information for rent and wage subsidy
– Assistance in budgeting process
– Record keeping on one of the real estate companies ( less than 10 transactions per month), include cheque run requests, HST, etc.
– Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Accounting. Knowledge of GAAP practices and applications for private enterprises, ideally manufacturing. Ability to work in a multi-company environment.
– Relevant post-secondary education with diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance.
– High skill in MS Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks and/or ERP, Epicor is ideal.
– Job costing, budgeting, and ERP integration.
– Strong attention to detail and time management
