IT Application Developer (ServiceNow)
Job location: our office in Ottawa, Canada or Toronto, Canada
About the team
Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Application Excellence, the IT Application Developer will be part of the technical professionals that are responsible for the corporate applications portfolio (including Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Informatica), internal web applications, custom application integrations, and corporate website components (training registration site, company blog etc.)
The IT Application Developer will be responsible for the design, development, test and documentation of internal applications, database design, integration and enhancing & supporting existing applications.
What you will do
- Design and develop new applications and integrations using various programming languages
- Maintain and support existing applications and custom integrations with various applications
- Provide support to Kinaxis users on the applications supported by the Application Excellence team.
- Documenting design specs, user guides, test plans, test cases, application behavior
- Assisting in testing and upgrading applications
- Introducing new innovations and technologies into existing corporate applications
What we are looking for
- 8+ years of functional/professional experience in Software/Application Development
- College or University Degree in an application development related field or related work experience.
- Experience developing and supporting Salesforce components and Apex classes preferred
- Experience developing and supporting ServiceNow customization and development preferred
- C# and Microsoft .Net Framework
- SQL Server/MySQL developing stored procedure, complex queries, optimizing queries, designing database
- Web programming including HTML5, JavaScript/jQuery, JSON, XML, CSS
- Understanding of client/server architecture, especially as it relates to the web
- RESTful and SOAP API based web service
- Authentication protocols and technologies such as OAuth, SAML, open ID
- PHP programming languages
- Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans
- Experience supporting and maintaining database application a plus
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Asp.net (C#) and MSSQL
- Strong knowledge of RESTFul and SOAP API
- Self-motivated, highly organized, go-getter mentality and capable of operating effectively on both independent tasks and group-related projects
- Proven trouble-shooting skills
- Good written and oral communication skills, a positive attitude and solid customer service skills are essential
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Analytical thinking skills to break down issues from client-side troubleshooting to analyzing networks/servers
- Ability to clearly document all application elements
- Good understanding of full software development life cycles
