Summary:
Working with IT Business Partners, the Senior Manager, IT Business Partner is a people-focused IT leader that provides technical and business guidance to the Engineering and Quality functional areas within Celestica that also links back to the manufacturing and operations portfolio. The candidate is the business relationship partner of these functional areas, working with the stakeholders to define and manage technology roadmaps that enable 3 to 5 year strategic plans. The incumbent will assist in prioritization of these projects on a regional or global basis, ensure they are aligned to strategic objectives, technology principles, corporate policy and compliance and that the investment delivers the maximum benefit to Celestica.

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as a technology partner to the organization’s functional teams on the range of IT capabilities, solutions and services that can address their needs.
  • Influences stakeholders with regards to enabling technology, process simplification, risk and opportunities within the roadmap and project scope.
  • Build close relationships with the functional areas the role is responsible for to understand what IT capabilities they need to innovate, grow, improve efficiencies, or address compliance requirements
  • Manages segments of functional area roadmaps to address portfolio of projects. Accountable for the completion of key project activities in collaboration with IT Project Management Office, other IT teams, functional teams (engineering, quality, operations, etc.) and, where necessary, with customer teams and vendors
  • Identify technology trends to provide guidance to Celestica’s internal teams in the development of IT roadmaps: priority areas to develop IT capabilities to support the functional areas’ needs
  • Mobilizes and manages Celestica’s IT teams to develop and deploy solution proposals that address customer needs
  • Qualify and help prioritize requirements and demands
  • Participate and support DFMEA Process reviews
  • International business travel between 30-60%

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Experienced at requirements gathering and documentation (Design Thinking experience is a plus)
  • Process Mapping (Value Stream Mapping experience is a plus)
  • UX Experience would be advantageous
  • Experienced in managing and delivering projects
  • Knowledge in Electronics Manufacturing and Operations
  • Understanding of functional areas such as engineering, quality. Supply Chain etc
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Architecture is a plus
  • Strong relationship, negotiation, stakeholder management and facilitation Skills
  • Strong leadership skills and customer focused orientation
  • Leadership skills, ability to motivate people
  • Self motivated, organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Proven experience in project financial and vendor/stakeholder reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with various levels in an organization
  • Consistently demonstrates extremely high levels of technical knowledge, ingenuity and creativity.
  • An excellent grasp of engineering and quality principles
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods
  • Ability to plan and organize through several project stages
  • Support design review and contribute to achievement of Engineering Milestones as well as Customer Program Milestones
  • Quality control of work by appropriate reviews

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive work experience in a high/medium volume manufacturing environment

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree. University degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Business Administration, Commerce, Manufacturing or Engineering.
