Job description: We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Support Specialist to be located in Fredericton, NB. The role of the Infrastructure Support Specialist is to configure and support server and network infrastructure required to support the day to day business operations of the company. This position will be responsible for technical support issues, software and hardware implementation, network operation, and day-to-day management of the corporate server and network infrastructure. The role will report to the Manager of IT Operations and work with all members of the Infrastructure Support team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Server support including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of various physical and virtual server environments. This includes support of the operating systems software and underlying hardware.
• Support for the office network infrastructure for 15 offices, a Co-Location datacentre and all associated network interconnecting hardware and links
• Working closely with other IT resources and business groups to provide recommendations, deliver project, and request requirements.
• Staying abreast of server and network technologies allowing for the recommendation and selection of solutions to meet business requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• 5 years of enterprise IT experience in a distributed enterprise-computing environment.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the operation of LAN and WAN environment.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to conduct research into infrastructure issues and products as required
• A relevant Diploma/Degree or a combination of practical work experience and education.
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of Palo Alto Panorma and Next Generation firewalls, Avaya VoIP solutions, Internet security software including IDS, IPS, SIEM systems, SQL Server, Postgres and MySQL databases, and IIS and Apache/Tomcat web servers.
• Background in the following technologies will be an asset: Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Office 365, Mail Gateways and LINUX systems.
• Experience with implementation and supporting cloud based applications / telephony platforms
• Microsoft MCSE or Cisco CCNA certifications are an asset
