As an IT Network Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring and providing initial support on a network connectivity framework. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in networking, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive mindset to ensure continuous service and rapid restoration in case of outages.
Responsibilities:
- Actively monitor all connectivity infrastructure components, including Palo Alto Prisma, Equinix virtual machines, and other key areas across multiple data centers.
- Provide an initial response to incidents raised by business teams and actively support customers.
- Co-ordinate active handling of incidents by establishing technical bridges and bringing in additional specialists and partner technical support.
- Conduct network technical troubleshooting and implement workarounds or fixes in specified areas of administration, including Palo Alto Prisma, Equinix Virtual network infrastructure, and Palo Alto Panorama and Firewalls.
- Transfer ownership of incident coordination back to business teams when the cause is determined to be outside the connectivity framework.
- Ensure seamless transition of incident handling and manage the onboarding of managed services partner staff.
- Properly manage and close all tickets, and maintain accurate reporting of SLAs and SLO’s.
- Manage fixes through the implementation process, update documentation, and prepare post-incident reports.
- Be an active participant in the team, ensuring complete communication of all events to colleagues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or any related field.
- 3+ years of experience in the Networking domain.
- Minimum of two years in a role providing first or second-line technical support or incident coordination.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and autonomous with a proactive attitude.
- General knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud networking technologies.
- Strong expertise in Palo Alto technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills in LAN, Firewall, and cloud networking.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as a Code and agile methodologies.
- Cloud networking certification is an asset.
- Palo Alto certification is an asset
