IT Project Manager

We’re seeking an experienced IT Project Manager, with a proven track record of working in a leadership role on multiple projects in an open and collaborative environment. Company size 60-100 people.

  • The Project Manager will play a key role in supporting business process and technology improvements.
  • Accountable for the planning and successful delivery of complex cross functional projects with significant risk and business impact.
  • The Project Manager role interfaces with project stakeholders and senior leadership sponsors to develop and deliver projects from concept through to implementation.
  • Requires the use of strong project lifecycle and financial management expertise as well as leadership skills for cross-functional resources.
  • Will apply advanced project lifecycle methodology (PMBOK) combined with experience to implement on time, on budget deliverables.

Responsibilities & KPAs

  • Manage all components of moderately complex IT and/or business projects, developing detailed work plans, schedules, risk assessments, project estimates, resource plans and status reports. Co-ordinate project activities resource identification, management of financial and project schedules, maintain change registrar in order to meet completion deadlines.
  • Budget management including planning, cost estimation and project execution tracking.
  • Requirements gathering from various stakeholders and resource pools. Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional teams, and present project status (stage gate) to senior leadership team.
  • Application of exceptional negotiation and leadership skills to remove obstacles and resolve conflicts.
  • Facilitates project related meetings with a variety of stakeholders and project resources.
  • Models and promotes the company’s organizational culture, purpose, and values.
  • Champions and fosters a climate of diversity and inclusion.
  • Uses individual and team efforts to manage and improve internal and external relationships

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience preparing project documentation such as Charter, Project Scope Document, Risk and Change registrars, Project Plan, Quality Plan, Test Plan, Training Plan for technical and business-related projects.
  • Ability to evaluate various options and make project adjustments as required.
  • Strong management, communication, influencing and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and presenting project status reports and updates to various levels of leadership.
  • Working knowledge of Insolvency practices and procedures.
  • Experience with Financial/Insolvency industry specific software systems.
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite of products (MS Project) and internet applications along with a strong aptitude for learning new computer programs

Education and Qualifications

  • University degree or College diploma in Information Technology, Business Systems Analysis and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • 5 years proven experience in technical project management, 3 years’ experience leading projects and team resources.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Written and spoken competence in English.
  • Demonstrated experience with change management and Change Management Office procedures. CCMP certification preferred.

  • Exceptional organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • Creation of and adherence to a structured PMO (Project Management Office) and CMO (Change Management Office) framework.
  • Facilitate communication channels with stakeholders and project resources ensuring goals, product, and delivery are well understood.
  • Guide, coach and motivate the project team to be highly effective, self-organized, productive and accountable, with an emphasis on achieving commitments.
  • Manage expectations with project team members and other stakeholders.
  • Management of multiple, concurrent and potentially disparate projects.
  • Take ownership of Project Management for the company
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of change including coordinating the CAB (Change Advisory Board).
