The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects that execute within the North America IT Insurance (Business Technology Solutions) Portfolio. They are responsible for creating and managing the supporting project plans, business expectations, budget, risks and issues and in general, all the project governance mechanisms..

The Project Manager must be effective at leading and guiding the work of project delivery teams, serving as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders, and monitoring progress to ensure scope, budget, quality standards, user adoption targets are met.

The Project Manager reports to the Project Manager for North America Insurance. This role should possess a combination of strong project management and business skills. The role’s greatest skill will be the ability to plan and execute projects utilizing industry standard Project Management frameworks.

In this position, a resource is responsible for leading Infrastructure and Application Enhancements projects within the Business Technology Solutions (BTS) department. Position requires some understanding of infrastructure services, software development lifecycle (SDLC), coordinating with strategic sourcing partners, and leading onshore and offshore delivery teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparation of the overall project plans which include activities associated with SDLC and timing of key deliverables, milestones, dependencies
  • Effectively communicate with managers, peers and business partners on deliverables, timelines, risks, issues and support as needed
  • Coordinate project delivery activities and serve as the main point of contact for project resources, stakeholders, and 3rd party partners
  • Ensure project team completes the project and it is delivered within budget, schedule, scope, quality standards, and any applicable user adoption targets
  • Monitor and report on project scope and schedule
  • Coordinate with Program and Portfolio Manager to monitor and control budget; assist with annual budget preparation and budget re-forecast as needed
  • Assess, analyze, and manage issues and risks while identifying/implementing mitigation factors/actions
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of weekly, monthly, or quarterly project status reports

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • University bachelor’s degree desirable
  • Project management professional (PMP) certification desirable but not mandatory
  • +5 Years of experience as an IT project manager delivering medium to large size initiatives end to end
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment with cross functional teams
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Ability to prepare the overall project plans which include activities associated with SDLC and timing of key deliverables, milestones, and dependencies
  • Ability to enter and track Risks, Actions, Issues, Decision (RAID) items from initiation, status, and closure
  • Ability to assess, analyze, and manage issues and risks while identifying/implementing mitigation factors/actions
  • Ability to coordinate project delivery activities and serve as the main point of contact for project resources, stakeholders, and 3rd party partners
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
