Key Responsibilities:

Works largely independently within defined projects and work streams. Work is checked based on end results. Has an executional role in design and development projects or acts as an expert tester who designs test scripts and provides overall project guidance and planning support. For IT Product SMEs: From a Business Management perspective, typically provides technical expertise to support full or partial product lifecycle; suggests innovations and digitalisation opportunities; proactive in cross-functional Product teams; actively mitigates issues impacting successful Product team outcomes; and may collaborate with Vendors and Suppliers on technical issues. From a Technology Management perspective, an IT Product SME typically advises on the Product and may act as a technical escalation point; is involved in CI efforts to support business outcomes; may work with the Product Vendor to understand new functionality or changes on the Vendors roadmap; and has involvement in ensuring IRM technical risks are fully evaluated. Applies advanced level of knowledge and skills concerning assigned IT systems and domains to projects. Advises internally on solving functional and technical problems regarding the assigned applications and infrastructure.

Purpose of the IT Function is to empower the Business by finding real talent in IT, focusing on business outcomes and delivering fit for business technology solutions which enable business speed, agility and profitable growth. As part of the Enterprise Technology Services and Operations organisation whose mission is to provide secure and reliable enterprise wide IT services globally, your role as Telecommunication Network Engineer as part of the Traffic Engineering department will focus on delivery of Connectivity services which includes local and wide area networks, network security, voice services and associated technology. You will play a critical role in ensuring Enterprise Technology Services and Operations Management (ETSOM) meets operational performance expectations by:

  • Providing technical expertise supporting support groups to resolve complex issues and incidents on a global scale (around 70 countries)
  • Making proactive/predictive and pre-emptive interventions including the use of data and analytics
  • Providing strong steer for future tooling requirements to embrace Automation using Data & Analytics
  • Developing and sustaining the required technical skills
  • Ensuring relevant ITIL processes are effective across internal and external organizational boundaries
  • Supporting Traffic Engineering manager and ETSOM staff in developing their technical knowledge in relevant services. What we need from you? We’re keen to hear from IT professionals who have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications or equivalent work experience. Beyond that, we’d hope to see as many of the following as possible on your CV:
  • Extensive experience (10 year +) in corporate IT specifically in Networking (Deep networking experience (routing/switching, performance tuning, voice technologies and cloud hosting)
  • A Cisco CCNP or CCIE, Aruba ACEX, Palo Alto PCNSE, ZScaler ZCCA-PA, F5 Certified Technology Specialist and/or any equivalent certifications is required to fulfil this role
  • Ability to solve technical operational issues & problems in data and voice networking on L3 level / ITIL Tier 3
  • Available to perform standby duties / work in weekends
  • Good communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
