PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Provides technical support and problem resolution to customers and assists with the System Administration of corporate information systems and infrastructure assigned to the unit.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides technical support and problem resolution for information systems customers.
Configures, installs, and supports microcomputer and mobile hardware and software.
Assists with system administration for various location LAN servers and infrastructure throughout Ontario. System Administration includes monitoring performance, ensuring that security procedures are implemented and enforced, ensuring data backups procedures are performed, problem review and solution implementation, etc.
Researches, evaluates and recommends new hardware and software technologies.
Develops and writes specifications and procedures for the installation and use of a variety of information system technologies.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides client training regarding use of System standard hardware and software.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science, or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of IT related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of information systems technologies.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a technical certification from a vendor or certifying authority that is pertinent to the System.
Frequently required to lift 21 – 50 lbs.:
Ability to work other than normal business days and hours.
Ability to travel independently and overnight and be assigned temporarily to client locations, technical conferences, training, etc.
