Job title: IT Systems Analyst – 12 to 14-month contract
Job description: Remote work schedule – Calgary office (please note that this position can also be filled in any of our offices across Canada)
As an IT systems analyst you will act as a technical lead for our technologies in a variety of projects or initiatives. You will plan, organize and follow up on activities and improvements to assigned technology portfolio. You will have the chance to continuously deliver new solutions to drive business value.
You will be focusing on:
- Acting as a technical resource for all technological matters, whether support or change related, within assigned technologies (troubleshooting, resolution, escalation).
- Managing application portfolio, and ensures it remains up to date (patches, upgrades, roadmaps, asset management, etc.).
- Supporting knowledge transition.
- Providing after-hours call support.
- Representing the Application Delivery team for assigned projects and initiatives
- Is the single point of contact for application-related activities.
- Coordinates activities with other team members (internal and external).
- Assesses impacts to other systems/processes/platforms.
- Escalates roadblocks and major issues.
- Generates project design documentation (detailed design, architecture, etc.).
- Performing business and functional analysis in relation to assigned processes/platforms.
- Adhering to defined ITSM processes.
- Creates change tickets, follows up with approvals, coordinates required resources, and presents changes to the Change Advisory Board.
- Monitors the team queue for incidents, and captures troubleshooting activities.
- Analyzes recurring problems for root cause; proposes remediation activities, and executes on them.
- Creates, proposes, commits to, and executes against work plans.
What you bring to the role:
- College diploma in a technology-focused field
- At least 7 years’ experience in IT with 4+ years in a similar role
- Technical skills
- Troubleshooting
- SQL scripting
- .NET/programming
- Windows Server and Desktop
- Business and functional analysis experience
- Legal industry knowledge is a strong asset
- Able to cope with conflicting demands, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Good communication skills
- Achieved or pursuing ITIL Foundation certification
