We’re looking for a new IT Systems Manager, and we hope our search ends with you. IT Systems Manager: Your first goal in this position will be to become an expert in our new, robust PoS system. You’ll receive training from the PoS provider, but you’ll need to dig deep in the system to learn it inside out, and determine how we can maximize its use. As our expert, you’ll troubleshoot and train our team on proper use of the system. The system will help us track sales and inventory, accounting and payroll, so general business acumen will be an asset. Once that system is up and running, you’ll transition into your long-term responsibilities. You’ll implement an online store and manage the logistical details involved. You’ll manage user accounts, permissions, and all our data. You’ll also provide tech support to our team as needed. You’ll succeed here because you are: * Detail-oriented – you pick up on little things within complex contexts, and execute meticulously. * Curious – it’s not enough for you to simply get the gist. You learn with complete mastery as your goal. * A strong communicator – you can boil down technical information to laymen’s terms, and decipher vague descriptions to find what you need. * Resourceful – you enjoy finding new ways to solve tricky problems. Working at Valley Building Supplies: This is a full-time, permanent position at our store on the outskirts of Powell River. Typically, you’ll work from 8am-5pm, five days a week. Since you’ll be the go-to person, you’ll also be on call in case things go wrong with our system. To start, you’ll earn $42,000 and $48,000 per year commensurate with experience. Bonuses are available based on individual and store performance. We also offer a generous benefits plan, vacation, discounted building supplies, and help with buying your own Apple computer.
