Position description :

As an integral part of the IT team , the IT technician will be responsible for managing the IT infrastructure, providing support to our internal users and develop, design and implement IT management tools to meet the specific needs of RobotShop. He will participate in the various stages of development, implementation, operation, documentation and integration of specific tools such as: office and management applications, multimedia tools and Internet tools.

Tasks and responsibilities:

The main role of the IT technician is to maintain the work fluidity of users in house.

More specifically, the technician will be in charge of several tasks such as:

  • Provide user support with software and hardware either face-to-face, via telephone or remotely;
  • Assist users with the Google Apps platform, software or hardware problems, phone system;
  • Assess the need for additional hardware purchases;
  • Suggest to management any new product or software that could allow RobotShop to stay at the cutting edge of technology;
  • Install and configure workstations: printers, scanners etc.;
  • Install, configure and monitor the operation of servers, network and computer components;
  • Resolve technical problems that occur in all departments of RobotShop;
  • Monitor and maintain application performance such as antivirus and backup software;
  • Review system alerts and log files and take necessary actions to ensure network security;
  • Examine logs frequently, detect problems, correct and analyze email alerts (proactively);
  • Document technical processes and procedures and maintain inventory of equipment;
  • Provide phone assistance in case of emergency;
  • All other related duties.

Education:

  • D.E.C in computer science, network management option;

OR

  • A.E.C network manager: security specialist.

Experience :

  • 1- 2 years experience in computer science : user support, office configuration and updates ;
  • Experience in customer support (intern) will be considered as an asset.

Technical skills:

  • Knowledge of cloud environments will be considered as an asset;
  • Knowledge of telephone systems an asset.

Language abilities :

  • Excellent French writing, reading and speaking (french environment);

Physical requirements :

  • Work generally in movement (moving within the company for various frequent needs).

Subordinates: The IT technician will have no one under his charge, but must constantly work as a team player with his colleagues, including the programming team, to maximize the effectiveness of IT technologies within the company. We offer :
