Role Summary
The trainee role is responsible for ensuring that Global Solutions related applications, services and procedures are well supported and properly executed. This includes internally developed Concur Onboarding Application future analysis & design specs, vendor supplied Software Testing Applications (testing processes and continuous improvement) project involvement and enterprise application user support, application configuration, access management, and QA.
The trainee will be rotating through different teams within the IT Solutions Tower. While working with the ERP Non-SAP team, the trainee will focus on Software testing applications while interacting with SAP Managers, Workday Tower Leads, and other Global Apps managers. Additionally, the trainee will support external applications & the enhancement of Concur while working closely with Finance, and other team members to custom develop Onboarding Tools surrounding SAP Concur Request & Expense.
Key Responsibilities
- Broad market analysis of Software Testing software, and understand Magna’s need for a broad range of functionality for:
- Internally hosted Vendor Apps,
- internally hosted Magna-developed Apps,
- Cloud hosted SAP, Workday, SuccessFactors & other apps
- Total administration, support, and maintenance of the Magna RPA UI for the Concur reporting Library
- Define enhancements to the Magna developed Concur “Onboarding” application along with additional new features
- Administering, support and maintenance of business applications which are operated by Global Solutions Application Support,
- User support: 1st and 2nd level Support, troubleshooting and reporting
- Interface to 3rd level support for issue and problem management
- Supports functional department with user training
- Continuous improvements for application support processes
- Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, keep all internal documentation systems (i.e. OneNote, Application List, etc.) up to date
- Support for application testing
- Write training material for defined applications
Challenges
- Learning a relatively new realm of Testing Apps needed within Magna
- Complexity of multiple in-house applications & hats
- Working with several different managers & business areas
Knowledge and Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field of study from a recognized IT program.
Work Experience
- New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Knowledge in the field of administration of WEB applications and databases (MSSQL)
- Experience with .NET Applications is an advantage
- Profound MS Office knowledge
- Basic knowledge in the field of programming of WEB applications
- Analytical and strong in troubleshooting and problem-solving, familiar with incident support and application development lifecycle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively, independently and with others in a collaborative environment
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and organisation skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Energy & thirst for committing to best practises, best solution yet simplistic methodologies
- Ability to prioritise and coordinate work
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet critical deadlines

- Affinity for IT and good technical understanding
- Able to communicate in German, Mandarin or Spanish are an asset, but not required
